DSL Setup ProcedureThank you for choosing Hawaii OnLine for your DSL connection to the Internet. You will soon be receiving the hardware you will need to get started, plus some basic instructions on how to install it. This kit should include the following items:

Here are brief basic steps for getting your DSL up and running. Refer to the following pages for more specific details and troubleshooting. Please note: you should wait until receiving notification that your DSL has been provisioned and is ready.

DSL filters are small electonic devices which preclude interference between the DSL Modem and all other telephonic devices on the same telephone line. A DSL filter must be installed between all telephone equipment (telephone, fax, etc.) and the telephone line. The "Line" side of the DSL filter should be connected to the telephone jack, while the "Phone" side of the DSL filter should be connected to the telephone equipment. ![]() The DSL modem itself is connected directly to the telephone line without a DSL filter.

4. Surf the Net!!You're now ready to surf the net in style. Fire up your web browser and try to go to any website (try www.aloha.net if you can't think of any other). If nothing happens, check to make sure your browser is not set for "Work Offline". To test your DSL performance, go to the following URL and click on the "Click here to test your connection speed" link: http://www.aloha.net/speedtestThe results should be anywhere between 500 and 770 Kbps (for the basic 768/128 DSL package), or proportionately higher if you purchased a higher bandwidth DSL package.
