1. Install DSL Filters

DSL filters are small electonic devices which preclude interference between the DSL Modem and all other telephonic devices on the same telephone line. A DSL filter must be installed between all telephone equipment (telephone, fax, etc.) and the telephone line. The "Line" side of the DSL filter should be connected to the telephone jack, while the "Phone" side of the DSL filter should be connected to the telephone equipment.

The DSL modem itself is connected directly to the telephone line without a DSL filter.

The results should be anywhere between 500 and 770 Kbps (for the basic 768/128 DSL package), or proportionately higher if you purchased a higher bandwidth DSL package.
